I am happy to announce that we are offering a flag disposal box in the County Clerk’s office. I was able to obtain this box at no charge to the county, and members of the Jerseyville American Legion have agreed to assist with proper disposal of the flags.
I hope this will provide a convenient way for our citizens to maintain respect for our national symbol when flags are too worn to display. Flags should be folded respectfully before being placed in the box.
